An Eventful and Successful Trip
Levo President, Bill Heiden, just returned from Haiti after two plus weeks. Within a couple hours after landing in Port Au Prince with a team of primarily high school students, civil unrest broke out in the capital city over the dramatic increase in fuel costs. After a day or so of “sheltering in place,” the team made the trek up to the rural community of Sylvain, where Levo’s work is being done. Once in the calm of the countryside, the team set to work and did significant work to update Training Center 1 on the Many Hands for Haiti campus. The capstone of the trip was the construction of a permanent hydroponic greenhouse to replace the demonstration version that Founder, Christian Heiden, and his team installed a couple years back.
