Levo in Education

Our Approach:

Levo partners with schools throughout Connecticut to teach students about environmentally sustainable food systems, international development, nutrition, and hydroponic farming. Levo’s hydroponics can be used as an effective learning tool for STEAM-related subjects, and because of Levo’s focus on international community development, can even be related to history, geography, and economics.

Levo focuses on providing tailored support to fit the needs of our communities and partners, so none of our educational programs look the same, but follow similar themes.

ACES REGIONS (Hamden)

ACES is a facility for adolescent boys who are attempting to re-enter society after being put into the juvenile justice system. Levo provided them Victory Gardens in 2021, and is launching an indoor growing and training facility in February 2022, to provide students skills with hydroponics and to grow produce for their local community.

Grow Windham (Widham)

GROW Windham purchased 5 Victory Gardens for 2022. Levo has installed its first two systems in two different locations and will be installing an additional 3 systems at three schools in the coming weeks. These systems will be maintained by the GROW Windham team, and Levo is providing remote support for this program.

Children’s Community School

Levo hosted an arts and craft Bokit decorating event in Waterbury with the Children’s Community School (CCS). Levo provides CCS students hydroponic buckets and plants, and the students came and decorated their buckets and brought them home for their family to grow fresh produce with.

Fitch High School

Levo is partnering with the Groton Public Schools to expand students' access to fresh produce. Levo installed several Victory Gardens for the high school in 2021, and in 2022, will be expanding the hydroponics on the school's campus, as well as launching a program for students to take Bokit systems home.
