Levo Adds to Leadership to Scale Food Security

Levo International, Inc. (Levo), a social enterprise dedicated to empowering people to end poverty, is growing its team in preparation for expanded impact.

Hartford, CT: Since it was incorporated in 2017, Levo International, Inc. (Levo) has developed and tested products and processes to increase the accessibility of economic and food security solutions. It has demonstrated capabilities to deliver and is preparing to scale its impact in 2024. As part of that planning the organization announced additions to its leadership team in areas key to delivering on their mission.

The start-up that has begun to make a name for itself with its delivery of simplified hydroponic farming methods, has set highly ambitious growth targets. To support that growth they have added Andrew Howe to the leadership team. Mr. Howe will join Levo as a volunteer Strategic Development Advisor. “We are excited to put to use his knowledge from work in both small start-up and large corporate environments,” says Christian Heiden, Founder of Levo.

Levo is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and Howe’s work will first focus on growing donations and sponsorships from individuals and corporations. According to Heiden, donations and sponsorships are critical sources of capital for growth and ”an absolute necessity for funding international development” in the near term. According to the company, Howe is a strategic thinker and communicator with 25 years of software sales and management experience working in the area of software analytics, cyber security and data platform solutions. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, he spent ten years with Oracle as well as time with multiple startup companies, including seven and a half years with Splunk. In each of these roles, Andrew played leading roles in driving revenue growth, and did so through consultation with client partners representing many in the Fortune 1000.

Executive Director Bill Heiden emphasizes that Levo has always been a volunteer driven organization and doesn’t make a distinction between paid and unpaid, part-time and full-time, “it’s about filling a role and making things happen.” Currently, Howe’s full-time job is as Southeast Regional Sales Manager with Anvilogic, a leader in Cyber Threat Detection and Hunting Platform. Howe, seeing parallels to the other successful startups of which he has been a part, believes “Levo goes and gets stuff done.”

“Food insecurity is a critical problem around the world,” insists Howe, “and also one that is solvable. I’ve been looking for ways to help address this issue and I am excited to help Levo deliver food security here in the United States and alleviate hunger across the globe.”
